Hardwood Natural Wood Flooring
There is nothing makes a home more beautiful and welcoming than natural
wood floors. With varied wood species, sizes and finishes to choose
from, our wood floors completely cover everything. Regardless of age,
species or color of the flooring, the addition of wood adds pleasant
warmth that's hard to beat. And today the options range from the traditional
woods: oak and maple to an exotic options Brazilian cherry, walnut and
much more. Selecting a proper flooring surface is really important.
There is sold or engineered construction.
Solid:
Like it sounds, is milled from a single 3/4" or 5/8" thick piece of
hardwood. Because of its thickness, a solid hardwood floor can be sanded
and refinished over several generations of use. One of the characteristics
of solid wood flooring is that it expands and contracts with changes
in your home's relative humidity.
Engineered:
Produced with three to five layers of hardwood standard thickness 5/8".
Each layer is stacked in a cross-grain configuration and bonded together
under heat and pressure. As a result, engineered wood flooring is less
likely to be affected by changes in humidity and can be installed at
all levels of the home.
Prefinished vs. Unfinished:
Unfinished floors require several days to install, stain and finish
the flooring. Prefinished floors are less messy during installation
process and can be installed and completed the same day. A factory-applied
finish like aluminum oxide is extremely durable and hard to scratch.
With unfinished you can do a lot more options with custom borders and
inlays where prefinished has limited options.
